For many of us the Pelvic Floor is an area that receives very little attention. 

We don’t really talk about ‘down there’ unless we are having a problem with incontinence, sex or another related issue and even then we often give it limited attention. 

 In terms of central nervous system, it’s at the lower end of the spine away from the skull and therefore furthest away from your brain. Signals to and from the brain have further to travel to reach there. Then, add to that, its inaccessibility for visual scrutiny and it becomes the place in your body that’s often overlooked. 

 And yet, it’s also the base of the vast system of neurological wiring that provides you with the opportunity to enjoy integrated whole body experiences. 

Accompanying this your pelvic floor is also a network of muscles that enables elimination of waste products, contributes to pleasure during sexual intercourse, and is deeply connected with optimal breathing. Better engagement of your pelvic floor will also provide you with effortless posture and alignment. As the base of your abdominal-pelvic cavity, it has an important role in the arrangement of your internal organs, as well as contributing to freer, easier movement of your whole being in walking.


Here is a course providing you with a series of explorations, learnings and change processes that provide you the means to enhance the way in which you sense, organise and mobilise your whole self from the bottom-up and the inside-out.

'Awaken Your Pelvic Floor' is for the curious, for those of you who wish to regenerate a more youthful, flexible, enhancing range of movement.


'Awaken Your Pelvic Floor' is a course that will guide you beyond your known, so that you can explore and find your own potential for greater, easier and freer movement. 



This online course is comprised of a series of video lessons, organised around 4 areas:

 sensing | meditating | breathing | moving 

 There are 12 sections to the course, each containing a number of short video lessons, ranging from 5 minutes, to 30-40 minutes.
 
This course gives you complete freedom of when and where you decide to take class.

Once purchased, you will have lifetime access.


No prior experience is needed; this course can be accessed by complete beginners to Somatics and somatic movement. 


Inside it you will find information about how to get the most out of Somatics. 



As a starting point, all you need is the ability to get down on the floor, to be able to lie for up to 30 – 40 mins (but this can be supported by blankets, cushions, bolsters etc… whatever you need for your own comfort), and to be able to get up off the floor again.

  • What is Somatics?
    Somatics is an approach to movement, that requires you to start from a place of conscious awareness. While it may seem that the focus is on movement, really, the starting point is to gain an awareness of what is.

    This means to build your awareness of proprioception (where you and all your body parts are in space) and interoception (how you sense all of those body parts, and your whole self, on the inside).

    From that place, the movement becomes a journey of exploration and discovery. And this movement journey can provide you with more conscious awareness of your self, which can lead to greater ease, greater comfort, and greater freedom in your body.
  • Who is it for?
    Somatics is for the curious and the adventurous! It is ideal for you if you are interested in improving your connection to your body. If there are any areas in your body that cause you to not move as easily as you could, that might cause you discomfort, or you feel that you avoid certain activities because of, then Somatics can be a perfect starting point to undo some of these unconscious, often dormant, areas.

    It is also an incredible companion to yoga, pilates, or other movement practices as it can shine a light on aspects of your movement habits that may need re-patterning or upgrading, so that you can begin to get way more out of your activities.

Meet Your Hosts

David and Amanda are both experienced Somatic Educators who love sharing a somatic approach to living with students and teachers around the world. As well as having a background of various somatic practices (Nia, Aerial Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation), they have both studied and trained in Somatics from the lineage of Thomas Hanna, which has been a major focus of their work for the past 10 years. They are currently based in Morocco.
